Pod2g Demos iPad 3 iOS 5.1 Untethered Jailbreak

As you see in the video above Pod2g is showing a demo of his iPad 3 jailbroken and untethered on iOS 5.1. This is good news for everyone on iOS 5.1, if it gets released. But now iOS 5.1.1 is out. As of now I'm not sure what his plans are to release the next jailbreak but I will keep you updated. In case you missed it, check out my last video talking about the latest news with the Jailbreaks -

pod2g Finds Bug in iOS 5 for Untethered Jailbreak

Last night pod2g posted the tweet above saying he has now found a bug in iOS 5 that will allow to ge the untethered jailbreak working. He didn't specify if this will jailbreak all devices including the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. I'm guessing since its an iOS 5 bug it should work on all devices. Now don't forget Apple released iOS 5.0.1 for developers the other day and it is exepect to be released to the public anytime in the next few weeks. This means he will most likely wait until iOS 5.0.1 is released until he puts out the Untethered jailbreak or else Apple will just patch the bug in the update. Stay tuned for updates on the iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak.

iPhone 5 Event set for October 4th?

According to AllThingsD "sources close to the situation" are saying Apple will be holding its next event on October 4th where Tim Cook (the new CEO of Apple) will announce the iPhone 5. They are also reporting that it will be availible within a few weeks of the announcement. There have been many different reports as to when the iPhone 5 wll be announced and released so remember this is just another rumor.

If October 4th is the release date, Apple could change their mind anytime and set it to another date. Either way its important for Apple since Tim Cook should be doing his first big product announcement as Apple's new CEO.

Again, remember that these are all rumors and something will probably be posted tomorrow saying otherwise. But what are your thoughts on this rumor? Does October 4th sound like a good time to announce the iPhone 5? Will Tim Cook give the keynote? Will Steve Jobs make an appearance? Guess we will have to wait to find out.
