pod2g Finds Bug in iOS 5 for Untethered Jailbreak

Last night pod2g posted the tweet above saying he has now found a bug in iOS 5 that will allow to ge the untethered jailbreak working. He didn't specify if this will jailbreak all devices including the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. I'm guessing since its an iOS 5 bug it should work on all devices. Now don't forget Apple released iOS 5.0.1 for developers the other day and it is exepect to be released to the public anytime in the next few weeks. This means he will most likely wait until iOS 5.0.1 is released until he puts out the Untethered jailbreak or else Apple will just patch the bug in the update. Stay tuned for updates on the iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak.

Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 Update Jailbreaks iOS 5.0.1 beta

Yesterday Apple released iOS 5.0.1 to developers and the next day we already have a jailbreak, but of course it is tethered. Which means you will have to have to plug your device up to your computer and run a program to reboot (turn it off and back on) your device. This is also the option of doing a semi tether when rebooting your device though, which will reboot you into a non-jailbroken state if you done normally. Check inside for download links and which devices this jailbreak supports...

How to Jailbreak iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1 (tethered)

This post will explain how to jailbreak iOS 5 if you have an iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPhone 4 (gsm & cdma), iPod touch 3G, iPod Touch 4, and iPad 1G. Since this is a tethered Jailbreak you will need to plug your device up to your computer and basically rejailbreak it if you want to turn it off and back on. This is why I would suggest you wait for the official untethered jailbreak....anyways the guide is inside!

How to put the Newsstand app in a folder

If you have updated to iOS 5 and tried place the Newsstand app in a folder you know it wont work. I'm not sure why Apple didn't allow this in the first place but now there is a little glitch that allows you to do it. Its a bit tricky to do and hard to explain so watch my video guide inside the post. (sorry about the audio in the video, youtube had a big fail. lol)

UPDATE: Do not open the Newsstand app if its in the folder or your device will crash and restart. Move it out of the folder if you want to open it.
