Jailbreak 5.0.1 iPhone 4S and iPad 2 with Absinthe
The Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is now here! This is an untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1. In this post I'll be telling all the steps your need to follow in order to Jailbreak your device properly. Happy Jailbreaking!

Notes:
- If you have a passcode lock on your device you must turn it off before you do this jailbreak.
- If you experience the "error establishing database connection" bug on your device go to Settings > Network > VPN and turn it ON.
- To fix “Camera Roll” error where you don't have any photos or videos you have to rerun the app once to fix, then another time to complete jailbreak.
- If you got white icons after the jailbreak or had issues with VPN try running the newest version v0.2 of the JB.
Step by step guide to Jailbreak:
1: Download Absinthe using the links above and extract the zip file by double clicking on it. Now open up the Absinthe application. If you're on windows right click on Absinthe and run it as an administrator.
2: Make sure your device is plugged into your computer and updated to iOS 5.0.1. Now click the Jailbreak button.
3. The process will take a while, some users have said it took up to 15 minutes so just sit patient until you see the bar completely.
4. Once the process is complete the bar will be filled up and the application will say:
"Almost done - just unlock the screen if necessary, then tap the "jailbreak" icon to finish."
So thats what you need to do! Find the Absinthe icon on your homescreen, open it up and Cydia should begin installing and reboot your device.
NOTE: At the current moment the website it loads up to install Cydia is down because so many users are trying it right now. If it doesn't work on the first few tries just come back in a few hours and it should be good to go.
5. Now you're device is Jailbroken, congrats!!!

Does the Absinthe download require OSX Lion? It won't launch the app on 10.5.8

Here is how i got it working: [Windows im using...
Go to your Settings on the iPad and reset it (choose all settings) - i had to do this in order to get it working
Extract the folder cinject_0.4.3 to the root of the C drive
Press CTRL+R and type "cmd" (without quotes) and press enter
The command prompt window will open.
Type "cd C:cinject_0.4.3", hit enter
Type "cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig", hit enter
A window will pop on your iPad, hit Install and leave the password field empty, click next
Type "cinject.exe -j payloads", hit enter and wait for it to finish
Type "cinject.exe -w", hit enter. When it says something with "profiled: Service stopping", open up your Settings on the iPad and slide the VPN slider on the menu, so it's set to ON.
You should now have a succesfully jailbroken iPad
My iphone through my company. I had a policy downloaded to it which requires a password. Looking through install notes it says you need to disable password. I cant How can I get around that. I dont mind having to wipe phone but not sure what to do.

i think i found the solution of why absinthe kept on "shutting down" (windows)
once it says loading jailbreak data don't let the ipad screen go black thn it will continue the process

Hi, after my Ipad 2 was reebooting, the jailbreak suddenly stopped and it's showing ERROR: Could not connect to lockdown. Aborting

New windows jailbreak starts and is working than the program stops working it seems about 2/3 of the way. Cannot turn on VPN at all.
Ok so i downloaded absinthe for windows. I right clicked and ran it as admin. I plugged in my phone and it still says to plug it in to begin....my phone is plugged in and I cant click on the "jailbreak" button.......help?
