How to Jailbreak 4.2.1 iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad Untethered! (Windows & Mac) [Update: Now works with Verizon iPhone]

The Greenpois0n Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 is finally here and I have a simple guide for you guys to follow. This now works for Windows and Mac and jailbreaks every device except iPhone 3G and it is untethered. And it now also will Jailbreak the Verizon iPhone! The video above explains everything that you will need to jailbreak your device. All the downloads and other info you will need will be inside this post.

Notes:
- NOW WORKS WITH THE VERIZON IPHONE!!
- If you have used a previous jailbreak on your 4.2.1 device i suggest you restore your device to factory settings in iTunes before you do this guide. Just make sure you sync everything to your computer before it so you can sync it back once you are done. But DO NOT restore to a backup, this will put everything on your device that you don't want on it.
- works with ALL devices, except iPhone 3G. use redsn0w for that.
- if you have an unlocked iphone 4, DO NOT UPDATE YET.
- will this delete my music and apps? - no.
- if your anti-virus detects that greenpois0n is a virus turn it off and then do this jailbreak. its safe, i promise.
- if you hav any issues when jailbreaking hold the home and power buttons on your device until it reboots.


On with the guide!

1. Download Greenpois0n for your computer. Unzip the file by double clicking on it and open the Greenpois0n app.
2. Plug your device into your Mac via USB and open Greenpois0n.
3. Prepare to put your device into DFU mode. Greenpois0n gives you the steps to do this and will count down for you where the Greenpois0n logo is in the app.
4. Click Jailbreak. Wait 5 seconds and then hold the sleep button for 3 seconds. Without releasing the sleep button press the home button and hold both of those for 10 seconds. Next release the sleep button while still holding the home button.
5. Continue holding the home button. You're device will show a white screen and text will begin scrolling on your device. Once your device starts rebooting you can then release the home button.
6. Now on your device open the Loader app, tap to install Cydia and let it do its thing.
7. Your device is now Jailbroken.

i jail broke my iphone and did the fix loader stuff, then it said remove loader from phone once i finished or cancel
so i clicked ok and now i dont have cydia or loader what should i do ?

TYYY, thanks so much but i didnt do it right and my phone is frozen! i put it into dfu first, then pressed jailbreak and i got my iphone 3gs frozen on the terminal screen! IT is not responding in itunes, should i unplug it and try to reboot or what? P.S. im not a noob to jailbreaking, ive been doing it to my itouch scense 1.1.4

hello i did the new 4.2.1 jailbreak on a ipod touch 4 and i open loader and i click install cydia and then it downloads it and says complete then i get out of loader and cydia is nowhere to be seen please help.

I had a problem jail breaking my Ipad. i downloaded greenposi0n and jail-broke my iphone 4 with no problems.
I updated the ipad to 4.2.1 then i tried to jailbreak it, i followed the instruction and it went in dfu mode the screen went white and greenpois0n error message said failed. i have tried doing it with out restoring my profile and apps but still the same results. Could the update for IOS 4.2.1 be at fault or could it be the ipad it self. It is a 64gd wifi only Ipad. PLEASE HELP

hey ty, i prviously have a tethered jailbreak on my iphone, when i try to restore it in itunes it gives me a error saying i dont have the correct firmware build or something of the sort..
what should i do? because i tried green poison once and it just got stuck with a loading bar

hey ty, i saw your video on TextNow and i downloaded it and i now have got a number and i also have minutes for calling. If i jailbreak my ipod touch 4g (running on 4.2.1 as of right now) will i be able to keep the same number and still have my minutes after the jailbreak process has completed?

Okay I think I messed up. I have 3gs 4.2.1 (06.15.00) jailbroken with redsn0w tethered. I messed up by trying restoring my iphone and it didn't work. Now its on recovery mode. I tried redsn0w again, it didn't work and it is also not restoring through itunes. What can be done about it now... Please help...
