upgrade 2 G iPhone from 2.0.2 to 3.1.2

Hei guys I have a question. I have a 2G iPhone and my software version is 2.0.2. The 2.0.2. is allready jailbroken and unlocked. How should I proceed updating to 3.1.2? I made this post after watching the youtube video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7DnqOS1njU&feature=channel - where it says ,, - If your iPhone is Unlocked DO NOT do this guide, its only for a jailbreak. How did you jailbreak? Do you use PC or Mac? In most cases, you need to restore before updating. I always recommend restoring in DFU mode.

Well, I took it to a repair shop then, so I`m not shure what he used to jailbreak, but I think he used PC..

well when you upgrade you'll loose your unlock but you can always try to unlock it again once you update

So, I`ll have to sync all my apps / songs / photos now ( not to loose them ), then upgrade to 3.1.2, get the iPhone locked.. Then I should use blackra1n to unlock it? If I`m wrong in any way, please tell me the corect steps, or even better if you have a youtube video of doing this it would really help! :)

ok just to save confusion...

you have a 2g, the easiest device to jailbreak and unlock

make sure you download it and name it as *whatever its named*.ipsw file and when you want to use it, just put your iphone into itunes and hold shift when you click restore

unless adlyr tells you to go dfu then shift restore

Yeh, it has cydia.. but why can`t I sync any of the games from Applications in iTunes :| ? I can`t even tick the ,, Sync applications " option..

and is the app cracked or legit, lol go download some free app like facebook or something and then try

I tried all apps legit + cracked.. I can`t sync any.. I read on some sites that I should disable restrictions..

hum.. what the fluffy kitten.. um you got restrictions turned off on your ipod, go into the settings menu (idk where it is atm, ill look on my itunes/ipod for both toggels)

Cr*p, I can`t find my restriction passcode. Is there a factory passcode like 0000? Cause I tried all my passcodes X_x. God!

Yea, I`m really confused too now. Was tinking about restoring too, but when I sync again after, the restrictions passcode will be on again..

So should I make a restore from iTunes, and then not do the backup :-s? ( the restore should be made the same with shift + restore right? ) Or should I try installing appsync for 3.1.2 and then try to sync ?

restore the normal way you got to 3.1.2, either via buying from itunes or the shift+restore

then dont click on restore from backup that is always a bad idea if your jb
