cydia said I had to install an essential upgrade this morning at about 7am. I installed the upgrade and ever sense I have not been able to run Cydia at all. It crashes on start up. I have ran mobile terminal and can find no error, I have deleted the most recently updated sources, I have reinstalled cydia via icy, I have rejail broke, nothing is working. Does anyone have a possible solution?

restore and rejailbreak.
same thing happened to me a week ago when upgrading on cydia. nothing worked for me until I restored and rejailbroke. went back into cydia and did the upgrade and its been fine since.

Most of the time when apps crash, it's due to a memory issue.

In that case he should get freemem or something similar
is there any way to fix cydia without rejailbroke?

if its crashing due to low memory probably not.

for the low memory (which Cydia is a HUGE memory hog) you can get SBSettings, hit the processes toggle, see what is running, shut down anything left open you dont need (iPod, Safari and email stay open after you hit home). It also has the "Free Memory" button, that helps some. I keep a close eye on my memory while cydia is open.
for the fix without rejailbreak, there are a few methods for it i have seen posted here. If it is crashing on startup it is normally due to a bad/corrupt repository. They can be deleted via SSH or through mobile terminal. Although re-running the jailbreak should only reinstall cydia, fix the issue and not erase anything.

If it is the same problem that was happening to me then it is probably because of a corrupt source. You'll need to SSH and remove source from the locations listed in posted link below. If that doesn't work then you will have to restore and re-jailbreak. Uninstalling and re-installing cydia will not fix it.

it crashed after i download some theme.. i will try the sbsetting later and see if will work..
btw, does re-jailbreaking will delete my previous apps?
or if i delete cydia and download again via ICY do i need to install again 'all sources' and other repos i had been installed?
