If you’ve seen the Droid Dos commercial then you know that this phone is supposed to be better than the iPhone. Now we know that as of right now the iPhone is the BEST phone ever! That’s not a opinion…that’s a fact!
The question is though, what would a phone have to have to be better than the iPhone? Well, some of the points that the Droid made referring to be the “Downfall” of an iPhone were Virtual Keyboards, Not running simultaneous apps, Camera quality, Its disability to customize without jailbreaking, not running widgets, not allowing open development, no nighttime photo taking, and no interchangeable batteries. Now I do have to say that MOST of these reasons are true. iPhone does lack a lot of things, but can this droid be better? I want to know what you think! Leave a comment. you know what bro? the ipod touch is pretty sick and im still trying to get my hands on an iphone but still cant. jailbreaking the itouch is awesome and wish i had the iphone because the touch technology with it is pretty cool but im curious as to how this droid is going to be my plan for verizon is up soon, probably next month, so when i get it ill put a video to all the things on it

I think that it will be good in those areas but thats it, it won’t beat the app store, itunes store or the touch screen and the absoloutly amazing style of the iphone but if it is quite a bit cheaper it may sell alot better than the iphone

I love the iphone. used to have one but got it taken away. if the droid could run iphone app store apps then its better but not going to happen. really it goes down to the touch screen quality
Well I guess if the Droid can do just as much as the iPhone, while overdoing it by these upgrades, then it’d be a pretty remarkable device. But the Droid is for Verizon, which will give it some hype, because the *waiting for Verizon iPhone* people really have been deprived of touchscreen smartphones that rock in the past! (Including me!)
It would be good for the iPhone to actually have some competition. Apple is they way they are (not allowing open deving and not making major changes to the iPhone) BECAUSE there is no competition. If there was a threat to the iPhone supremacy then Apple would kick it into high gear and maybe satisfy some of their customers for once.
Alot of the iPhone compedirors all say the exact same things and who’s still on top the iPhone is. Like the palm pre is probly the closest competor but what it did correctly was that it was showing of what it could do instead if what the iPhone couldn’t do. I think there going at this all wrong I would have tried to go under the radar with this phone and just show it off when it comes out, and with all the things the iPhone “lacks” tons of people still use it and love it. I’m using a iPhone right now and love it and I’m not complaining about the key board I like it .
I would like to see what happens, hopefully something good too since i am on verizon, but I would still rather prefer the iphone at the moment. We will see what happens.

Droid will fail miserably! Everyone is trying to create a phone better than the iPhone! Even if the phone do boast its options than iPhone currently lacks, what about the support? i.e. ITunes store, Cydia for the jailbroken phones? They offer Open source for this phone?.. They are shooting themselves in the head!! They’ll never have a stable income from app sales or ringtone sales! Also, were talking about Verizon… come on now.. Verizon? They don’t have the infrastructure of Apple to compete! Apple will totally destroy them with simple updates, not to mention the release of a totatlly new iPhone! It’s just another envious company trying to keep up with Apple.

I fully stand behind the iPhone, but we haven’t seen the droid. It could amaze us. Another things is that Verizon WAS negotiating with Apple about the iPhone. Have you seen the commercial? Seems like Verizon got mad they didn’t win the fight, and decided to “Bash” the iPhone. Thats what it looks to me, looks like no hope for a iPhone Verizon style….
It is my belief that the iPhone will eventually come to Verizon. It might take a while but it will happen. Until then, this could be pretty amazing. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Im not sure if Verizon made the commercial or if Motorola did, i looked a little into Droid this morning, what im getting is that its square not round, same size as iphone but instead has a slider for the keyboard instead of a touch screen keyboard, as for apps, has anybody cracked the apps already for Verizon phones?

well i think i would go for it if it does support loads of apps. the important thing that will differ for real is the apps, we all know the rest of its pathetic unable to comply to the basic needs issue yet we still bought iphone and love it, so if droid can beat iphone with its apps trust me there will be a turnover and till then no matter what they do its a waste of time & money.. hire me google..
I have a close friend that works at Verizon and has been testing the Android phone. I have an iphone. I must say that i am jealous at times but so is he. It is basically a jailbroken iphone. Apple still has the design beat though. Its is a great device but I am loyal to apple, just like everyone else that pays loads of money on quality products. Apple just has that down to a science. That goes for computers and everything else they make.
