You guys might remember a little while ago we made a post on this new tool that can jailbreak your iDevice really fast and simply. Well some of you might of had problems, the main problems where iPhone 3G Users couldn’t get it to run the right way, there were some fixes but they might not have been advertised enough. And another problem was if you picked to install Icy with blackra1n then it could mess up yo jailbreak by overwriting a important file. Well with this new update these problems should be fixed. What about the iPod Touch 3rd gen? Is geohot serious? I’ve jailbroken like 10 iPhone 3G’s this week with no problems.

Ty, you’re were a great help with my 2.2.1 firmware jailbreak, but sadly i’m stuck with an iphone 3g on 3.1.2 on a 05.11.07 baseband. is the baseband significant? reading posts about botched iphone 3g’s that failed to jailbreak makes me worried about using Blackra1n, should i be?
with the new version of blackra1n, is the jailbreak for 3rd gen ipods still tethered or did they finally get a full jailbreak?

Well I just bought an Ipod Touch 3g 8GB. I have updated it to the new firmware 3.1.2, if I want to jailbroke it now ,do i have to restore my ipod to get the 3.1 or can I just leave as it is?
If I restore my ipod will it go to 3.1 o 3.1.2?

is it true that if you bought the 3gs after oct.13 and it has the 3.1.2 firmware that you cant jailbreak because of the 05.11.07 bassband? this is what someone told me if anyone could offer some clarity it would be appreciated!

Yes, it works on the 8GB iPod touch. The older version of blackra1n worked for my 8GB ipod touch aswell. So Jason? Yes it does. And it’s so easy and simple.

YES, this works with models numbers beginning with MC.
To the above poster who has a black screen. Connect to iTunes. Restore and start over. You may try to manually reboot the phone by holding the home button and power button at the same time.
People here’s how to jailbreak it, Run blackra1n, wait for your iPod Touch to not reboot, run blackra1n one more time an voila! It should now work! I have an 8gb 3rd generation iPod Touch and it works! The bad thing is that everytime your iPod Touch 3rd generation powers off, you have to run blackra1n again in order for your iPod Touch 3rd gen to reboot. Sucks I know. It’s because iPod Toch 3rd gen is tethered.

I have a 3G 16gb Model A1241. I have tried and tried and still get the emergency only screen even after blackra1n runs and says done. I have tried the tether trick before reboot and still the same. Any advise will be appreciated!

I have an iphone 3G which was 2.2 then upgraded to 3.0 and jailbroke and unlocked. I changed the battery myself but then it wasn’t unlocked anymore and I use Tmobile. So I restored and used redsnow and ultrasnow and that still didnt work. So then I updated to 3.1.2 and used blackra1n and it jailbroke it but i still cant get tmobile. any help would be much appreciated and is severely needed!

I tried to jailbreak my iPod Touch but it failed. It went straight to connect to itunes then it went to the picture of the random guy and when it finished rebooting it appeared with the connect to itunes logo again. I am on a mac and I am using Blackra1n RC3. Please help! I use iPod Touch 3g 3.1.2
I have the IPOD TOUCH 3G and jailbroke it using Blackra1n and now everytime it reboots it goes directly to the connected to Itunes and will not load any further.. It says its in recovery mode when I start Itunes… Don’t know what thats about.. Any advice?

The jailbreak for ipod touch 3g 8gb is still tethered but if you dont mind this then to get it to work you have to follow the blackra1n setup instructions twice and on the second attempt it will reboot as required.
after using blackra1n on my ipod touch 16gb 2nd gen, i get to the connect to itunes page, then it goes away. the box pops up on my PC that tells me it was simple and all that, but my ipod screen stays black and never reboots. please help, i really want to jailbreak my ipod, and blackra1n is apparently the easiest way.
sorry for double commenting, but i just want to say i ran blackra1n again and it worked for some reason. (btw i had already done this at least 5 times before, it just started to work now)

FAQ:
Q: Do I have to restore my iTouch every time it reboots and goes into recovery mode? (tethered)
A: No. Run Blackra1n again once you boot up and ignore the restore.
TIPS:
-If you are on Vista run it as admin (right click the blackra1n and run as admin)
-Restore before you jailbreak

I have jailbroken 4 more of the same ipods all of them are MC’s.. but this one will jailbreak but when it reboots and then i click the rain logo on the ipod and try to download Cydia and Rock,, it goes through the entire loading process then roboots as it should, but then cydia and rock never appear> Help me out somebody if you can..
